Science proves that love is blind

Image
Scientists have shown that there is a degree of truth in the old adage that love is blind.  They have found that feelings of love lead to a suppression of activity in the areas of the brain controlling critical thought. It seems that once we get close to a person, the brain decides the need to assess their character and personality is reduced. The study, by University College London, is published in NeuroImage. The researchers found that both romantic love and maternal love produce the same effect on the brain. They suppress neural activity associated with critical social assessment of other people and negative emotions. The UCL team scanned the brains of 20 young mothers while they viewed pictures of their own children, children they were acquainted with, and adult friends. The team found that the patterns of brain activity were very similar to those identified in an earlier study looking at the effects of romantic love. Both studies recorded increased activity in parts of t

Being Vishnu.

Image
Viṣṇu is one of the principal deities of Hinduism, and the Supreme Being or absolute truth in its Vaishnavism tradition. Vishnu is the "preserver" in the Hindu triad (Trimurti) that includes Brahma and Shiva. I met him yesterday in my office bus. I was in hurry to step in, and suddenly someone wished me in cheerful voice. I was completely wondered to found him in front of me. Lastly we have met some two years ago at a mobile shop. He was from my senior batch during school days. i felt completely full of gratitude to see a familiar face in the ocean full of unknown. His kind gesture has taught me a very cheerful lesson of life, that is you can win every barrier towards success through your verbal and smile.  VISHNU BHAI , thank you so much for keeping an unbiased and unforgotten impact on my life.    Life is far too short to settle for things you do not want. Whether it be books, food, a bad relationship, or the wrong life: Don’t settle for something you do not enjoy

Done With Her...: A revelation that stabs at your subconscious by Chirasree Bose

Image
This story has everything from love, lust, hate, dominance, obsession, sex, police chases, drug lords, violence, abuse, deceit, betrayal and most of all survival. Know one understood the power that Chirasree controlled over reader's heart. A Spell some would say that could not be broken. An addiction I would say. In the beginning the motivation behind writing the book Loving The Addict was a jotting down in a journal as self therapy to cope with what happened to me. and was used to help me deal with the abuse that had occurred in my life. This is a fascinating story, published purposefully and directly from the author's diary just as it had been written. The author is a natural trained writer and the book is one of her best literary work. Her diary was her only solace in terrible times and the story would not be as powerful or poignant if it had been edited to perfection. To those who do not understand this from the outset, please do not allow yourself to judge the book by tra

Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary Jamnagar

Image
Dear Readers, Greetings from Book Rackoon. Before I write story in brief about my visit of Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary-Jamnagar, I would like to ask one question. Do we really have time to read stories on internet? while there are millions of sites to read? Anyway It was kind of excuse to write story in brief. I went to Jamnagar last week to visit extended family and made my day trip to Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary which is located 15 km from Jamnagar, where sweet water ponds and salty sea water from Gulf of Kutch allows different spices of bird to breed. It is well linked with good roads but surrounded by manmade hassardous (Ship breaking yard-Sachana) However Khijadiya, Jamnagar has preserved many birds and animals to prove that even if we have smaller space to protect Wildlife, we can still save a lot.  I came across many "Nilgay" (Bluebulls-kind of dear) some wild pigs, mongoose, storks, egrets, cranes, herrons, eagle, and many others... The last known isolated tribe (North Sentinel Island)

Image
In a world of rapid urbanization, we often assume there are no tribes left isolated without external contact on Earth.  But the Sentinelese people who inhabit the tiny island of North Sentinel that is part of the Andaman group of islands in the Bay of Bengal are living proof to the contrary. They rejected all types of communication with outsiders repeatedly and they protect their land violently when anybody wants to establish contact. This violent response is part of a pattern of violence that has marked most attempts at contact by outsiders with this tribe over the centuries. Believed to number anywhere from 50 to 400, the Sentinelese have lived in isolation on the island for 60,000 years, resisting attempts by authorities and anthropologists to study their culture and integrate them into the modern world. And when someone wanders to their island, like it happened for two fishermen on January 26, 2006, they relentlessly murder them. So protective are the Sentin

India is blessed with huge diversity of flora and fauna. Our nation is known for miraculous variety of geographical features that stretches from dense forests, frozen glaciers, fertile valleys, deserts and palm sprinkled silvery beaches. To preserve and protect these natural heritages, Government of India has established some dedicated parks where they can live and flourish without affecting us. Sundarban National Park is one of among them. Let us have a virtual tour to world’s biggest mangrove forest with us.
